With the coming fourth of July, make sure you raise a glass and toast the fact that you live in the U.S.A.  Hopefully you will be drinking something that you got from Winestock, but the point is that you are probably celebrating in a number of different ways, about a number of different things. In 1778, George Washington helped his troops celebrate their independence by giving them a double ration of rum! This time of year typically calls for barbeques and things of the sort, so the beer will be a-flowing. Please check the following list of

New beers that are available only at Winestock. These beers have done very well recently at Winestock, and have a tendency to sell out quickly, so if you are interested please make an order quickly.

· Blue Star Hefeweizen: I learned of this beer when I ordered it for a customer. It is made by North Coast Brewing Co. in Mendocino, Ca. A really great Hefeweizen! This beer is excellent for summertime and has a wonderful, crisp, wheat beer flavor.

· Arrogant Bastard Ale:  (oaked and regular) This beer is the kind of beer I envision a Nordic warrior drinking after a battle. You must be prepared for its strong flavor and 7.2% alcohol level, but it is a fun ride. Initially a punch in the mouth, it settles into a comfortable powerful beer with a good finish.

· Alaskan Amber Alt: This is a great beer. Made in a traditional lager method, it is fermented at a cooler temperature and for longer than an ale or stout. Made with glacier-fed water, European and Pac. NW hops, this is a truly well-crafted beer. Another good one for summer heat.

· Allagash Curieux: Like many other beers at Winestock, this is a virtual unknown around here. It comes from the Allagash Brewing Co. in Maine. This beer is made in a traditional Belgium style where it is undergoes a 2nd fermentation in the bottle to give the beer a wonderful carbonation and flavor from being aged on the lees. (Same production method as Champagne) It is aged for 2 months in Jim Beam barrels until it acquires a vanilla/coconut quality and hint of bourbon. Great with cheesecake or BBQ, this gem comes in a 750 ml bottle.
